Safari Ltd. Green Sea Turtle Life Cycle

$11.95

Set of 4 miniatures: eggs, baby sea turtle, young sea turtle and adult sea turtle.

They represent the life cycle of a green sea turtle:

  1. At night the female totura will leave the ocean waters to dig a hole far from the shore in which she will deposit up to 200 eggs.

  2. After 12 weeks, the baby turtles break through to the surface of the sand and crawl toward the ocean.

  3. During the growth stage, which lasts about 10 years, young turtles feed on plankton, jellyfish and fish eggs. They will measure up to 30 centimeters long.

  4. Sea turtles inhabit the coasts of the Atlantic, the Pacific and the Indian Ocean. They feed on seagrass and algae for years until they accumulate energy reserves to make migrations of up to 1,000 kilometers to breeding areas. They live up to 100 years and can measure up to 100 centimeters.

The figures are made of resistant plastic and are perfect for children to know the different stages that the living beings that surround them go through to develop, know their names and become familiar with nature and our environment.
