The protagonist of the work honored with the XI Compostela International Prize for Illustrated Album feels strange; He shares with readers his view of other people, while we are participants in how others perceive him. Oblivious to the uniform mass and followers of changing trends, Cándido may feel out of place but tries to go unnoticed;
He is a being sensitive to the insecurity and loneliness that can be felt being ignored. And although the world has become a hostile place towards nature and people, the positive thing about everything is that there is always a meeting point that unites Cándido and the others . Or not all of them. But that's another story...
Fran Pintadera and Christian Inaraja are the authors of this circular story around an iconic character. Parallel to the narrative simplicity, the graphic language stands out for its economy of resources - thick, schematic lines, neutral background, flat colors - and the use of visual metaphors that represent the range of emotions and sensations that Cándido experiences. Along with him live other figures of diverse appearance - also abstract - that provide a touch of humor and imagination.
